Being a Follower.

Geez... it's been a while since i have blogged! I am determined to keep up with this blog! Even though Like nobody reads it... :) Hopefully you are reading this because you read the title and want to know more :) Just recently, I started reading a book! It was 3 Bucks so I decided to buy it on my kindle! The title of this book sorta caught my eye! " Not a Fan: Becoming a completely committed follower of Jesus. " How can you be a follower but not a fan? or how is a fan and a follower different? It really made it clear in the book! You see, I though I was  indeed a passionate, fully devoted follower of Jesus. I always was at church! I read my bible, I prayed! Shoot, I even just had gotten back from Africa when I read this... But am I sometimes just a fan who admires Jesus but isn't ready to let him ruin my life? am I willing to say " okay God, here's my life... do what YOU want, Let YOUR will be done, Not mine! " Or am I so used to giving God the hand and saying " Okay God, I know that you want me to do this... but that's not really what I want right now. " Or " God, I would love to... but I kinda got a lot going on " Cause I know I say that a lot to God! You see the difference between a fan and a follower is a fan knows God! they may read there bible and go to church, and shout Amen every now and then... but when it comes down to being a true devoted disciple, they sorta step back and say... nahh I'll pass! You see, they know God, but they don't wanna put God First in their life! A follower, is what we are called to be! A follower not only knows God, and has a personal relationship with God! But they are ready to lay everything down, to be a disciple of God! That story in the bible where 3 men want to follow Jesus and be his disciple, but each of them have something they wanted to do before they went to follow Jesus! They had... EXCUSES! So Jesus told them, a true follower will lay down everything to follow me! Would you do that? would you lay down you money, your job, your friends, your family, your life just to be a disciple of Jesus? a Follower? Ask yourself the same Question I now ask myself daily " Am I just being God's #1 Fan, or am I willing to become his #1 Follower? "
